A New Beginning: Year Ender
Written by Hope in the New Year Thursday, 01 January 2009 08:23
Its 2009, another year has passed, another year is faced. Whether we are ready or not, all of us are slaves of time-- there is nothing we can do but to walk with the hands of time. The Philippines, our beloved country has suffered a lot in the hands of traditional politicians in the foregone year. All Filipinos stood witness of the things that happened to our country, mostly bad.
It is very strange that more and more Filipinos prefer living abroad. Is this a sign that the Philippines is a country too late to rescue? Did we Filipinos already lose hope that we tend to flee than to recover? When I was young, I have heard a lot of wonderful things about the Philippines. I then told myself, I am a Filipino and in the Philippines is where I will be. Am I doing the right decision? Standing true to my word?
I believe that everyday is a new beginning, a year is just a cluster of days. If it takes a new year to change instead of a day, then it is good that there is change for the better that to stay in the same old monotony. The Philippines is hoping against all hopes that change will happen. It is the new year, all of us are hoping for the best. If not today, why not the next? If it will take another year, I would push for that. Change is something we need desperately.
Happy new year to all!
